The Infinite Nothingness

The Mystical Numbers section established that zero and infinity are complements — perfectly inverted in length and precision. A new operation is required to hold them in tension. The infinite nothingness is that tension made explicit: the result of applying the ouroboros operator ($\circlearrowright$) across the boundary.

The paradox resolves into two extremal states and a null:

$$0 \circlearrowright \infty = \{\}_+ \quad \text{(frame up — orientating up a dimension)} \\ \infty \circlearrowright 0 = \{\}_- \quad \text{(frame down — orientating down a dimension)}$$

The null $\{\}$ is the unresolved pole — level 0, prior to any orientation. The two oriented voids $\{\}_+$ and $\{\}_-$ are level 1. Cross-composition of the oriented voids promotes to level 2 (see Holographic Unity).

Why This Is Not the Empty Set

Standard mathematics takes the empty set $\emptyset$ as its primordial nothing. MMP does not. The empty set assumes we already have a stable nothing — but the infinite nothingness shows that "nothing" has direction. $\{\}$ is not given at the outset; it is the pole, the unresolved state before the ouroboros acts. $\{\}_+$ and $\{\}_-$ are what nothingness becomes when it is oriented by its relationship to infinity and zero respectively.

The empty box $\{\}$ in box arithmetic is derived — it appears only when $\{\}_-$ and $\{\}_+$ are composed in their cross-orientation and the result is examined at level 0. To start from $\{\}$ is to skip the question of where it came from.

The Smoking Gun

This oriented structure is what makes $0^0 = 1$ inevitable rather than conventional. The base zero approaches from infinity ($\{\}_-$) and the exponent zero approaches from zero ($\{\}_+$).
